Romar seeks first coaching victory over Sacramento State
Nov 19, 2006 - 3:58 PM Sacramento St (2-2) at No. 15 Washington (3-0) 4:00 pm ESTSEATTLE (Ticker) -- Lorenzo Romar enjoyed a victory as a player over Sacramento State. He now seeks a similar ending as a coach when 15th-ranked Washington hosts the Hornets on Sunday.
On December 14, 1979, Romar finished with nine points and five rebounds as the Huskies posted a 94-57 rout over the Hornets in their first ever meeting.
Washington earned its third straight victory during its seven-game homestand with a 70-61 triumph over Northern Iowa on Tuesday.
Justin Dentmon scored 17 points and freshman Spencer Hawes had 16 and three blocks for the Huskies, who trailed, 31-28, at the half.
Sacramento State snapped a two-game skid with a 74-53 win over Denver on Friday. Haron Hargrave netted 31 points, Loren Leath added 15 and Angel Alamo grabbed 13 rebounds for the Hornets, who outscored the Pioneers, 47-19, after the break.
