Georgetown seeks fifth win a row over Fairfield
Nov 22, 2006 - 3:37 PM No. 16 Georgetown (2-1) at Fairfield (1-5) 7:30 pm ESTBRIDGEPORT, Connecticut (Ticker) - No. 16 Georgetown tries to notch its fifth straight win over Fairfield on Wednesday.
However, the 16th-ranked Hoyas must bounce back from a disappointing 75-62 setback to Old Dominion on Sunday. The loss snapped Georgetown's 23-game winning streak at McDonough Arena, its on-campus gymnasium.
Roy Hibbert collected 17 points, eight rebounds and four blocks and Jessie Sapp added 16 points for the Hoyas, who were outscored, 48-31, in the second half.
Meanwhile, the Stags earned their first win of the season Sunday, a 46-43 triumph over Central Arkansas.
Freshman Greg Nero scored 15 points and Michael Van Schaick and Marty O'Sullivan both added 10 for Fairfield, which held its opponent to 33 percent (16-of-49) shooting from the field.
The Hoyas are 13-4 all-time against the Stags.
