Georgetown hosts Jacksonville in opener

Nov 17, 2008 - 2:43 PM Jacksonville (0-1) at No. 18 Georgetown, 7:30 p.m. EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Opening the season with more subdued expectations, 18th-ranked Georgetown hosts Jacksonville on Monday.

The Hoyas made the Final Four in 2007 and were expected to make another deep run in the NCAAs, but they were ousted by Davidson in the second round.

Georgetown, which lost 7-2 center Roy Hibbert and Jonathan Wallace, is projected to be in the middle of a loaded Big East Conference this season.

Junior DaJuan Summers is the team's top returning scorer after averaging 11.1 points last season. Jessie Sapp and Austin Freeman also are expected to be key contributors.

The Dolphins, who went to the Atlantic Sun championship game last season, dropped their opener, 59-57, at Florida State on Saturday.

Lehmon Colbert scored 16 points for Jacksonville, which trailed by 13 at the half before its rally fell just short.
