Davidson, Oklahoma clash in early season test

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Stephen Curry and Blake Griffin have dominated the opposition in their first two respective games. Now comes their first true test.

In the first matchup of ranked teams this season, Curry and No. 21 Davidson visit Griffin 14th-ranked Oklahoma in the second round of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Tuesday.

Curry has averaged 31.0 points and 9.5 assists for the Wildcats (2-0), while Griffin has recorded back-to-back double-doubles and is averaging 22.0 points and 18.5 rebounds for the Sooners (2-0).

Davidson advanced to the second round of this early-season tournament with Monday's 99-64 victory over James Madison.

Curry scored 33 points and shot 14-of-19 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from the arc, and Andrew Lovedale finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Sooners overpowered Mississippi Valley State on Monday, 94-53. Griffin had 20 points and 19 rebounds, shooting 8-of-9 from the floor, and freshmen Willie Warren and Ray Willis each scored 14 points.

Tuesday's winner will move on to face either Arizona or Alabama-Birmingham in the semifinals in New York City on November 26.
