Griffin, Oklahoma take on Purdue for tournament title

Nov 28, 2008 - 11:18 AM No. 13 Oklahoma (5-0) vs. No. 9 Purdue (9-0), 3:30 p.m. EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Blake Griffin looks to continue his early season dominance when No. 13 Oklahoma takes on ninth-ranked Purdue for the NIT Season Tip-Off championship on Friday.

The Sooners' sophomore center has recorded double-doubles in all five contests for Oklahoma, which advanced to the championship with a 77-67 victory over Alabama-Birmingham on Wednesday.

Griffin had 32 points and 15 rebounds in the win and is averaging 27.2 and 18.8 this season. He is shooting 75 percent (49-of-65) from the floor.

The Boilermakers do not have a ton of size but should have the advantage on the perimeter.

E'Twaun Moore scored 19 points to lead Purdue to a 71-64 triumph over Boston College in the other semifinal.

Moore leads the team in scoring at 15.6 points per game and Robbie Hummel is averaging 15.0.
