Wisconsin looks to rebound from first loss

Nov 29, 2008 - 11:25 AM Wisconsin-Milwaukee (3-3) at No. 19 Wisconsin (4-1), 12:00 p.m. EST

MADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- If recent history plays any role, Wisconsin should have little problem bouncing back from its first loss.

The 19th-ranked Badgers aim to continue their dominance over Wisconsin-Milwaukee when the teams clash on Saturday.

Wisconsin has won 15 consecutive and 24 of the 25 all-time meetings. The Badgers won, 61-39, last season.

The Badgers will try and bounce back after losing in the Paradise Jam tournament final on Monday, a 76-57 setback to No. 2 Connecticut. Keaton Nankivil scored a team-high 11 points in the defeat.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee has dropped two straight, including an 82-69 loss to Ball State on Tuesday.

Avery Smith leads three players averaging in double figures at 16.0 points per game.

The Panthers will be without senior guard Ricky Franklin, who was suspended by the team following his arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Franklin had started all six games and was averaging 11.3 points per contest.
