Wichita State looks to remain perfect vs. Missouri-Kansas City
Nov 29, 2006 - 3:48 PM UMKC (3-3) at No. 22 Wichita St (4-0) 8:05 pm ESTWICHITA, Kansas (Ticker) -- Wichita State seeks its fourth victory in five outings against Missouri-Kansas City on Wednesday.
The 18th-ranked Shockers rolled to a 77-55 rout of the Kangaroos in Kansas City last season.
Wichita State defeated its second consecutive 2006 Final Four opponent with a 57-53 victory over No. 12 Louisiana State on Saturday. The Shockers took down George Mason a week earlier.
Against the Tigers, Karon Bradley, who had 11 points, scored the decisive basket in the upset. Ryan Martin scored 12 points and PJ Couisnard added 11 and seven boards for the Shockers, who shot 46 percent (24-of-52) overall.
Missouri-Kansas City is coming off a 79-75 triumph over Marshall on Saturday, ending a three-game slide. Quinton Day scored 23 points and handed out eight assists and Brent Stephens added 14 points for the Kangaroos, who drained 11-of-22 3-pointers.
