Louisville hopes to bounce back from first loss
Dec 6, 2008 - 11:23 AM Indiana State (0-5) at No. 11 Louisville (2-1), 2:00 p.m. ESTLOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Louisville hopes to rebound from a surprising defeat when it hosts Indiana State on Saturday.
After averaging 80 points during their first two game, the Cardinals' offense was smothered in a 68-54 setback to Western Kentucky last Sunday.
Louisville shot 27 percent (16-of-56) from the floor, including 6-of-30 from the arc in the loss. Guards Andre McGee and Edgar Sosa combined to shoot 0-for-13.
Freshman Samardo Samuels leads 11th-ranked Louisville at 17.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Sycamores have been close in most of their contests but have yet to pull off a victory.
Indiana State dropped a 56-54 contest to Arkansas State on Monday, its fourth loss by single digits.
Rashad Reed is scoring 14.4 points per contest to lead the Sycamores.
