Ohio State eyes seventh straight win

Dec 17, 2008 - 11:16 AM Jacksonville (2-5) at No. 16 Ohio State (6-0), 9:00 p.m. EST

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- No. 16 Ohio State looks to remain perfect when it hosts Jacksonville on Wednesday.

The Buckeyes won their sixth straight contest on Saturday, a 54-51 victory over Butler.

Evan Turner scored 14 points in the win for Ohio State, which has won its last three games by a combined 13 points. Turner is averaging 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds to lead the Buckeyes.

After dropping its first five games, Jacksonville has won consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference contests.

The Dolphins have not played since an 83-67 triumph over Lipscomb on December 6.

Ben Smith is scoring 18.4 points per game to lead Jacksonville, which has played tough against ranked teams.

Jacksonville lost by nine at Georgetown and by eight at Baylor in late November. The Dolphins also suffered a two-point setback to Florida State and a three-point defeat to Georgia Tech.
