Pittsburgh seeks 12th straight win in first road contest

Dec 21, 2008 - 8:47 AM No. 3 Pittsburgh (11-0) at Florida State (11-1), 5:30 p.m. EST

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh has gotten off to a rousing start and will look to continue its winning ways away from the comforts of home.

The third-ranked Panthers take on Florida State in their first true road game on Sunday.

The game with the Seminoles kicks off a three-game road trip. Pittsburgh has played two contests away from home, but was listed as the host during its victories in the Legends Classic in Newark, New Jersey on November 28 and 29.

DeJuan Blair recorded 21 points and 16 rebounds and Sam Young and Tyrell Biggs scored 14 points apiece to lead the Panthers to a 79-66 victory over Siena on Wednesday to clinch their second straight 11-0 start.

They have also notched identical starts in three of their last four campaigns.

Florida State, which is 6-0 at home, is seeking its fifth straight win and is coming off a 71-48 triumph over Charleston Southern on Thursday.

The Seminoles received a stellar outing from Solomon Alabi, who scored 16 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked six shots - all career-highs.

With that victory, Florida State matched its best 12-game start in school history.
