UCLA looks to continue winning ways

Dec 28, 2008 - 6:09 AM Louisiana Tech (6-6) at No. 10 UCLA (9-2), 3:00 p.m. EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- UCLA hopes to continue rolling when it hosts Louisiana Tech on Sunday.

The 10th-ranked Bruins, who enter on a five-game winning streak, are coming off their most lopsided win of the season, a 113-62 triumph over Wyoming on Tuesday.

Michael Roll scored a career-high 25 points, starting in place of Josh Shipp, who is expected to return from a two-game absence due to a sprained thumb.

Darren Collison is averaging 15.5 points and 4.8 assists to lead UCLA, which will play its conference opener on Friday at Oregon State.

The contest will also be the last non-conference game for the Bulldogs, who travel to San Jose State for the Western Athletic Conference opener next Saturday.

Louisiana Tech snapped a two-game losing streak with a 72-67 victory against TCU on Monday.

Kyle Gibson had a season-high 23 points in the win and leads the team at 16.5 per contest.

UCLA has one more non-conference game this season, a February 7 home contest against Notre Dame.
