Wake Forest looks to keep rolling vs. Radford

Dec 30, 2008 - 2:17 PM Radford (4-8) at No. 6 Wake Forest (11-0) 7:00 p.m. EST

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Sixth-ranked Wake Forest has climbed near the top of the national rankings thanks to its best start since 2003-04.

The Demon Deacons host Radford Tuesday in its second-to-last non-conference tune-up before opening Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Wake Forest, which opened the season ranked No. 24, is in search of its first 12-0 start in the last nine seasons. The continued emergence of freshman Al-Farouq Aminu should keep the Demon Deacons among the elite in the country.

Aminu matched season-highs with 21 points and 12 rebounds in a 95-54 win over East Carolina on December 22.

Jeff Teague's 18.7 points per game continues to lead Wake, which plays at Brigham Young on January 3 before its ACC opener against top-ranked North Carolina on January 11.

The Highlanders, who are 0-5 on the road, snapped a four-game losing streak with a 104-66 win over Shenandoah on Saturday.

Artsiom Parakhouski is nearly averaging a double-double with 14.4 points and 9.4 rebounds a game to lead Radford.
