Unbeaten Wake Forest looks to snap BYU home streak

Jan 3, 2009 - 1:53 PM No. 6 Wake Forest (12-0) at Brigham Young (11-1), 8:00 p.m. EST

PROVO, Utah (Ticker) -- If Wake Forest hopes to stay unbeaten, it will have to record an extremely rare victory at Brigham Young on Saturday.

BYU enters the game with the nation's longest winning streak at 53 games. It has not lost since at the Marriott Center since an 83-71 setback to Loyola Marymount on November 18, 2005.

But sixth-ranked Wake Forest is off to its best start since the 2000-01 campaign and has won by an average of 22.3 points this season.

Jeff Teague scored 19 points and freshman Al-Farouq Aminu had 18 and 10 rebounds as the Demon Deacons posted an 83-61 victory over Radford on Tuesday. Teague leads four players in double figures at 18.8 points per game.

The Cougars are coming off a 74-68 victory at Tulsa on Tuesday. Lee Cummard scored 26 points in the win and leads the team in scoring at 19.5 per contest.

It is the last non-conference game for Wake Forest, which opens Atlantic Coast Conference play against top-ranked North Carolina on January 11.
