Last game for Griffin, Oklahoma before Big 12 slate

Jan 5, 2009 - 5:32 PM MD-Eastern Shore (1-8) at No. 6 Oklahoma (13-1), 8:00 pm EST

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- In their final contest before starting Big 12 Conference play, Blake Griffin and No. 6 Oklahoma will host Maryland-Eastern Shore on Monday.

This contest should serve as nothing more than a warm up for the Sooners (13-1), who bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 93-62 victory over Coppin State on Saturday.

A contender for the National Player of the Year Award, Griffin scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in that one. The sophomore forward is averaging 22.2 points and 13.9 boards this season.

Tony Crocker poured in 20 points and Willie Warren added 14 with seven assists Saturday for Oklahoma, which has not lost at home this season.

After receiving a visit from the Hawks, the Sooners will visit Kansas State on Saturday.

UMES has lost three straight games and its only win this season is against woeful New Jersey Institute of Technology, which is on a 49-game losing streak.
