Fresh off joining Top 25, Boston College hosts Harvard

CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- After knocking off the consensus No. 1 team in the country, Boston College was rewarded with a ranking of its own.

Following a move into the polls Monday, the 24th-ranked Eagles face in-state rival Harvard on Wednesday.

Boston College used a strong defensive effort and a 16-5 spurt midway through the second half to open a double-digit lead before holding off a late rally in defeating North Carolina, 85-78, on Sunday.

The Tar Heels, who entered the game ranked eighth in the country with a 50.1 percent field-goal percentage, were held to just 38 percent (28-of-73) by the Eagles.

Tyrese Rice had 25 points and eight assists, Rakim Sanders added 22 and seven steals and Reggie Jackson scored 17 off the bench.

The Crimson won for the third time in four games Friday, upending Santa Clara, 73-68.

Jeremy Lin led four players in double figures with 17 points while dishing out nine assists. Drew Housman scored 16 and Doug Miller added 15.
