Butler looks to keep rolling

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- After surviving a tough road test, Butler has the opportunity to put a firm grasp on the Horizon League this week.

The 17th-ranked Bulldogs eye their ninth straight victory when they host Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The two-time defending league champions, Butler (16-1, 7-0 Horizon) has won its last eight games, including Saturday's victory at Illinois-Chicago. The Bulldogs trailed by 11 at the break.

Freshman Gordon Hayward made seven 3-pointers and matched his season-high with 25 points in the win. Matt Howard is averaging 13.8 points per game to lead Butler.

The Bulldogs are 8-0 at home this season and have another tough test when they host Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday. The Panthers have a 7-1 league record.

Wisconsin-Green Bay (14-5, 6-1) has won its last four games, including Monday's 91-53 drubbing of Houston Baptist.

Ryan Tillema is scoring 16 points per game to lead the Phoenix, who are off to their best start in the Horizon League since 2003-04.
