Second-ranked Duke seeks 10th straight win vs. Maryland

Jan 24, 2009 - 11:31 AM Maryland (13-5) at No. 2 Duke (17-1), 12:00 p.m. EST

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Second-ranked Duke looks to extend its winning streak to 10 games when it hosts conference-rival Maryland on Saturday.

The Blue Devils (17-1, 4-0 ACC), who will be seeking their 27th win in 28 tries at Cameron Indoor Stadium, are coming off a 73-56 romp over North Carolina State on Tuesday.

Since current No. 1 Wake Forest lost to Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Duke may jump to the top spot in the country by the time Monday's polls come out if it improves to 12-0 at home this season. The Demon Deacons host the Blue Devils on Wednesday.

Gerald Henderson is averaging 22.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in his last four games. The junior has also recorded 10 straight games with double-digit scoring figures.

The Terrapins (13-5, 2-2) posted an 84-78 home win over Virginia on Tuesday and has split the last 14 meetings with the Blue Devils.

Greivis Vasquez, who leads the Terps in scoring at 17.0 points per game, netted 16 against Virginia while bouncing back from a porous 2-for-13 effort in a 76-73 setback to Florida State last Saturday.
