Clemson hopes to rebound against Georgia Tech

Jan 25, 2009 - 7:01 AM Georgia Tech (9-9) at No. 9 Clemson (16-2), 7:45 p.m. EST

CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- After a pair of losses against the upper echelon of the Atlantic Coast Conference, Clemson hopes the conference's weakest team will help turn its fortunes.

The ninth-ranked Tigers hope to get healthy when they host Georgia Tech on Sunday.

Clemson (16-2, 2-2 ACC) was one win shy of matching the best start in school history before dropping consecutive games to Wake Forest and North Carolina.

Terrence Oglesby scored 22 points in the Tigers' 94-70 setback to the Tar Heels on Wednesday. Trevor Booker leads the team in scoring at 14.6 per game.

The lone winless team in the ACC, Georgia Tech (9-9, 0-5) has lost seven of its past nine.

Iman Shumpert scored 16 points and Gani Lawal added 14 and 10 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets fell to Boston College, 80-76, in overtime on Tuesday.

Lawal is averaging 15.7 points and 10.4 rebounds to lead Georgia Tech, which split two meetings with Clemson last season.
