SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- One of two unbeaten teams left in the Big East Conference, No. 8 Marquette goes for its 10th straight win when it visits struggling No. 22 Notre Dame on Monday.

The Golden Eagles (17-2, 6-0 Big East) are tied with Louisville (15-3, 6-0) for first place in the conference, while the Fighting Irish (12-6, 3-4) have faltered.

Expected to contend for a title this season, Notre Dame has dropped three straight games and had its invincibility at home removed on Saturday.

Luke Harangody had 24 points and 15 rebounds, but Notre Dame had its 45-game home winning streak snapped with a 69-61 setback to Connecticut. The Fighting Irish had won 20 straight Big East games at home.

Marquette has not lost since an 80-68 setback against Tennessee on December 16.

Jerel McNeal scored 21 points and Wesley Matthews had 20 as the Golden Eagles won their ninth straight game with a 79-70 triumph over DePaul on Saturday. Matthews is averaging 19.2 points to lead the team.

The contest is a matchup of the two highest scoring teams in the Big East. Marquette is averaging 81.5 points per game, while Notre Dame is close behind at 80.1.
