Griffin, Oklahoma renew 'Bedlam Series' with Oklahoma State

Jan 26, 2009 - 2:57 PM No. 5 Oklahoma (19-1) at Oklahoma State (13-5) 9:00 p.m. EST

STILLWATER, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Fifth-ranked Oklahoma puts its seven-game winning streak on the line when they visit rival Oklahoma State on Monday for the first of two matchups in the "Bedlam Series".

The Sooners (19-1, 5-0 Big 12) have won three straight and five of six over their intra-state rivals and figure to be led by double-double machine Blake Griffin. The sophomore is averaging 22.2 points and 13.8 rebounds and has recorded 16 double-doubles this season.

Griffin had 20 points and 17 boards in a 95-76 pasting of then-No 23. Baylor on Saturday, but endured a bit of a scare late in the first half. The player of the year candidate appeared to severely roll his left ankle and was down for several minutes before returning to the game prior to halftime.

Blake's older brother, Taylor Griffin, added 18 and seven as the Sooners won for the 29th straight time over the Bears.

The Cowboys (13-5, 2-2) are the Big 12's highest-scoring team at 85.4 points per game and are coming off a 76-74 overtime win against Nebraska on Saturday.

James Anderson equaled his team-leading average with 18 points and Oklahoma State shot 55 percent (29-of-53) from the field in the win. Marshall Moses also had a season-high 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Cowboys have won six of their last eight matchups with the Sooners in Stillwater, although they suffered a 68-56 setback during last season's series sweep.
