UConn looks to keep rolling vs. DePaul

Jan 28, 2009 - 11:23 AM No. 2 Connecticut (18-1) at DePaul (8-12) 9:00 p.m. EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Second-ranked Connecticut will look to avoid a letdown when it visits lowly DePaul in what appears to be a Big East mismatch on Wednesday.

Since dropping their conference opener to Georgetown, the Huskies (18-1, 7-1 Big East) have reeled off seven straight wins, including back-to-back victories over ranked opponents.

UConn followed an 89-83 home win over then-No.22 Villanova last Wednesday by snapping the nation's longest home winning streak on Saturday.

Jerome Dyson had 15 points, Jeff Adrien scored 12 and grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds and Hasheem Thabeet added nine, 11 and five blocks in the Huskies 69-61 victory over then-No. 19 Notre Dame.

The Fighting Irish had won 45 in a row at home, but UConn held Notre Dame to just 33 percent (25-of-76) from the field.

The inside duo of Adrien and Thabeet will look to control the paint against DePaul's Mac Koshwal. The 6-10 sophomore is averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, but has gone four straight contests without grabbing double-digit rebounds.

The Blue Demons (8-12, 0-7) are one of two Big East teams yet to get in the win column in conference this season. Dar Tucker scored 18 points and Will Walker added 17 as the Blue Demons lost to Marquette, 79-70, on Saturday.
