Purdue searches for seventh straight win

Feb 3, 2009 - 3:28 PM No. 13 Purdue (17-4) at Ohio State (15-5) 7:00 p.m. EST

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- If Purdue hopes to keep climbing up the rankings it will need to stop an annual menace.

The No. 13 Boilermakers will look to post their seventh straight win when they travel to Ohio State on Tuesday.

Purdue (17-4, 6-2 Big Ten) has not won in Columbus since February 7, 1998, and has dropped 12 of the last 14 meetings between the schools overall. But this season has been different for the Boilermakers, who are 4-1 in true road games, winning three in a row.

They are coming off a strong performance against Michigan on Saturday, outscoring the Wolverines 42-23 in the second half. Sophomore E'Twaun Moore - one of three sophomores in the starting five - led the way with 17 points.

The Buckeyes (15-5, 5-4) continue to make their own case for inclusion in the top 25, winning two in a row to move over .500 in the Big Ten.

Ohio State topped Indiana, 93-81, on Saturday behind 29 points from sophomore guard Eric Turner. He leads the team in scoring at 16.6 points per game and rebounding, pulling down 7.5 per contest.
