Since dropping two out of three, the fourth-ranked Tar Heels (19-2, 5-2 ACC) have reeled off five straight wins, including Saturday's 93-76 victory at North Carolina State.
After scoring a season-low eight points in a win against Florida State, Tyler Hansbrough had 31 against N.C. State.
North Carolina's all-time leading scorer, Hansbrough shot 12-of-17 from the floor for his second 30-point game of the season and is averaging a team-best 22.4 points per contest.
Maryland (14-7, 3-4) snapped a two-game losing streak on Saturday, defeating Miami, 73-68.
Landon Milbourne scored 17 points in the win and Greivis Vasquez had 11.
Vasquez is scoring 16.1 points to lead the Terrapins, who upset then-No. 1 North Carolina last season.
