Arizona State hopes to rebound at Oregon

Feb 5, 2009 - 11:18 AM No. 23 Arizona State (16-5) at Oregon (6-15), 10:30 p.m. EST

EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Arizona State hopes a visit to Oregon will cure its current ills.

The 23rd-ranked Sun Devils look to snap a two-game losing streak when they take on the Ducks in a Pac-10 Conference matchup on Thursday.

Arizona State (16-5, 5-4 Pac-10) is coming off back-to-back losses at home to Washington State and Washington last week - its first two-game skid of the season. The losses have prevented Sun Devils coach Herb Sendek from win No. 300.

James Harden is averaging 21.9 points to lead the Sun Devils, who lost to the Huskies, 84-71, on Saturday.

Losers of nine straight, Oregon (6-15, 0-9) is the lone winless team in the conference. Arizona State visits Oregon State, which went 0-18 in the Pac-10 last season, on Saturday.

The Ducks, who have not won since December 29, are coming off a 57-54 setback to Oregon State on Saturday.

Tajuan Porter scored 22 points in the loss and leads the team in scoring at 14.3 per game.

Arizona State won the first meeting, 76-58, on January 10. The Ducks have won the last three meetings in Oregon.
