Feb 7, 2009 - 12:53 PM No. 20 Syracuse (18-5) at No. 16 Villanova (18-4), 12:00 p.m. EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Villanova is starting to climb up the Big East Conference standings; Syracuse is hoping its recent slide was temporary.

The 16th-ranked Wildcats eye their fifth straight win when they meet the 20th-ranked Orange at the Wachovia Center.

Villanova (18-4, 6-3 Big East) has won its last four games to climb into fifth place in the conference.

Scottie Reynolds scored 31 points and Dwayne Anderson had 19 and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, who withstood a late rally and held on for a 94-91 victory over Providence on Wednesday.

Syracuse (18-5, 6-4) halted a three-game losing streak with a 74-61 triumph over West Virginia on Wednesday.

Jonny Flynn and Eric Devendorf each scored 22 points to lead the Orange, who have lost their last three road games.

The teams split the two regular-season meetings last season with each winning on the opponent's home floor.
