Oklahoma aims to keep rolling after close call

Feb 7, 2009 - 12:54 PM Colorado (9-12) at No. 2 Oklahoma (22-1), 1:30 p.m. EST

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Oklahoma used a late rally to preserve its perfect Big 12 Conference record in its last game. It's hoping for an easier time on Saturday.

The second-ranked Sooners go for their 11th straight win when they host Colorado.

Off to its best start in league play since 1985, Oklahoma (22-1, 8-0 Big 12) went on a 16-1 run to turn a nine-point deficit into a 75-69 lead with 11 seconds remaining against Texas A&M on Wednesday. Taylor Griffin had the go-ahead layup with 46 seconds to play as the Sooners went on to a 77-71 triumph.

Blake Griffin had 16 points and 14 rebounds and older brother Taylor scored 13 as Oklahoma improved to 13-0 at home this season.

Colorado (9-12, 1-6) has dropped nine of its past 11, including a 55-53 setback to Nebraska on Wednesday.

Cory Higgins is averaging 17.3 points to lead the Buffaloes, who won the lone regular-season meeting with the Sooners last season, 72-58.
