Wake Forest hopes to rebound against streaking Boston College

Feb 8, 2009 - 6:37 AM Boston College (18-6) at No. 6 Wake Forest (17-3), 4:00 p.m. EST

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Sixth-ranked Wake Forest hopes to return to the win column when it hosts Boston College on Sunday.

The No. 1 team in the country less than three weeks ago, the Demon Deacons (17-3, 4-3 ACC) have dropped two straight, including Wednesday's embarrassing 79-52 setback at Miami.

It was the lowest offensive output of the season for Wake Forest, which averages 81.4 points per game.

Jeff Teague scored 19 points in the loss and is averaging a team-high 20.6 per game.

After going through a lull following a win over then-No. 1 North Carolina, Boston College (18-6, 6-3) has won five straight games to get back on track. The Eagles lost four consecutive games prior to the winning streak.

The Eagles led by 20 points at the break and posted an 80-70 triumph over Virginia on Wednesday.

Tyrese Rice is scoring 18 points per game to lead Boston College, which lost to Wake Forest, 83-63, on January 14.
