Wake Forst/NC State Preview

Feb 11, 2009 - 11:37 AM No. 8 Wake Forest (18-3) at North Carolina State (12-9) 7:00 p.m. EST

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Bounce-back performances by two of Wake Forest's key pieces helped the Demon Deacons avoid a three-game losing streak.

Ranked eighth after a pair of road losses over the last two weeks, the Demon Deacons will look to Jeff Teague and Al-Farouq Aminu when they visit North Carolina State on Wednesday.

The freshman Aminu recorded career-highs with 26 points and 11 rebounds and Teague scored 27 while tying a season-high with eight assists in a 93-76 win over Boston College Sunday.

Teague, who averages 20.9 points per game, snapped a streak of three straight games of scoring under 20 while Aminu rebounded from matching his season-low of four points in a 79-52 beatdown at Miami last Wednesday.

Wake Forest (18-3, 5-3 ACC) will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak at RBC Center against NC State, which has lost four of its last five conference games.

The Wolfpack (12-9, 2-6) led by as many as 18 points on Sunday before dropping a 91-87 overtime contest against Virginia Tech.

Ben McCauley had 25 points and 15 rebounds in the losing effort, his seventh double-double of the season. The senior is averaging 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds while Brandon Costner leads the team in scoring 14.9 per game.
