Oklahoma aims to continue dominance of Baylor

Feb 11, 2009 - 11:36 AM No. 2 Oklahoma (23-1) at Baylor (15-8), 9:00 p.m. EST

WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Baylor's last meeting with Oklahoma sent the Bears into a tailspin that the team has yet to break. If history plays any role, that trend will continue.

Second-ranked Oklahoma looks to continue its dominance of Baylor on Wednesday.

The Sooners (23-1, 9-0 Big 12) have won 11 straight games overall and have taken the last 29 meetings with the Bears, dating to December 6, 1977.

Oklahoma defeated Baylor on January 24, 95-76, which was the beginning of a five-game slide for the Bears.

Once ranked in the top-25, Baylor (15-8, 3-6) has been unable to recover.

Curtis Jerrells is averaging a team-high 16.4 points per game for the Bears, who fell at Texas Tech, 83-76, on Saturday.

Blake Griffin had 26 points and 12 rebounds and Tony Crocker scored 24 as Oklahoma defeated Colorado, 77-72, on Saturday. Griffin is averaging 22.3 points and 14.0 rebounds to lead the Sooners.
