Washington look to take advantage of Oregon State

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- After an up-and-down road trip, No. 24 Washington is searching for consistency.

The Huskies will go for a sweep of the season series when they face Oregon State on Thursday.

Washington took its turn through Arizona and Northern California and ended up 2-2, falling to California and No. 18 Arizona State. The Huskies closed out their trip with a 75-68 victory over Stanford and return to Seattle, where they have lost once this season.

Freshman Isaiah Thomas has been the star for the Huskies (17-6, 8-3 Pac-10), leading the team with averages of 16.5 points and 2.7 assists. The Tacoma native finished with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting at Stanford.

Oregon State (10-12, 4-7) has dropped its last two games and shot just 32 percent in a 49-38 loss to Arizona State on Saturday. Rickey Claitt scored 13 points for the Beavers but was the only player to reach double figures.

Calvin Haynes, who leads Oregon State in scoring at 15.1 points, was held to four points on 2-of-8 shooting.

Washington took the first meeting, 85-59, behind 16 points and nine rebounds from Jon Brockman. Haynes was held to eight points on 3-of-11 shooting.
