Struggling Syracuse hosts Georgetown

Feb 14, 2009 - 11:31 AM Georgetown (13-9) at No. 22 Syracuse (18-7), 12:00 p.m. EST

SYRACUSE, New York (Ticker) -- Syracuse's struggles have the Orange on the verge of falling out of the top-25 - something Georgetown knows all too well.

The 22nd-ranked Orange hope to rediscover the winning touch when they host the Hoyas on Saturday.

Syracuse (18-7, 6-6 Big East) has dropped two straight and five of its last six, including Wednesday's 63-49 setback at top-ranked Connecticut. The 49 points were a season-low.

Jonny Flynn scored 16 points in the loss and is averaging 17.2 per contest to lead the Orange, who fell at Georgetown, 88-74, on January 14.

Since that win over Syracuse, Georgetown (13-9, 4-7) has not been the same.

The Hoyas followed the victory with a five-game losing streak and, after a win over Rutgers, Georgetown lost to Cincinnati in overtime, 64-62, last Saturday.

DaJuan Summers is averaging 14.2 points per game to lead the Hoyas, who were ranked as high as eighth earlier in the season.
