After emotional win, Missouri hosts Nebraska
Feb 14, 2009 - 11:29 AM Nebraska (15-7) at No. 19 Missouri (21-4), 1:30 p.m. ESTCOLUMBIA, Missouri (Ticker) -- Missouri is hoping to avoid a letdown after one of its biggest wins of the season. Of course, it should already know how dangerous Nebraska is.
The 19th-ranked Tigers go for their fifth straight win on Saturday when they host the Cornhuskers.
Missouri (21-4, 8-2 Big 12) rallied for a 62-60 victory over Kansas on Monday as Zaire Taylor made the game-winning jumper with 1.3 ticks left. The Tigers forced 27 turnovers in the win to make up for 35.6 percent (21-of-59) shooting.
The Tigers, who are two games behind Oklahoma (10-0) for first place in the Big 12 Conference, lost the first meeting at Nebraska, 56-51, on January 10. It was their lowest offensive output of the season.
Nebraska (15-7, 5-4) has won its past three games and knocked off then-No. 17 Texas, 58-55, last Saturday.
Ade Dagunduro scored 17 points to lead the Cornhuskers. The senior paces the team in scoring at 11.8 per game.
Missouri leads the Big 12 in scoring at 83.3 points per game, while Nebraska has the conference's stingiest defense, surrendering 58.5 per contest.
