Duke aims for bounce-back victory at Boston College

Feb 15, 2009 - 7:21 AM No. 5 Duke (20-4) at Boston College (18-8) 5:30 p.m. EST

CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- After a thrilling start to the season, Duke is struggling to find consistency.

The fifth-ranked Blue Devils aim to bounce back from a loss in one of college basketball's biggest rivalries on Sunday when they open a two-game road trip against Boston College.

Duke (20-4, 7-3 ACC) jumped to an 18-1 record, surging to the No. 1 ranking after trouncing Maryland, 85-44, on January 24.

However, the Blue Devils have lost three of five since the one-sided victory, including a 101-87 setback to third-ranked North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.

The Tar Heels outscored Duke, 57-35, in the second half, becoming the first team to score 100 points against the Blue Devils in a span of 457 games. UCLA last did it on February 26, 1995.

Luckily for Duke, the Golden Eagles (18-8, 6-5) have hit a rough patch as well, dropping their last two games to tough competition after winning five in a row.

Following a 17-point loss to then-No. 6 Wake Forest last Sunday, Boston College dropped an 87-77 decision to 11th-ranked Clemson on Tuesday.
