Harden, Arizona State out for revenge against USC

Feb 15, 2009 - 7:21 AM USC (15-8) at No. 18 Arizona State (19-5), 10:00 p.m. EST

TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- After completing a sweep of UCLA, Arizona State is hoping to avoid the same fate at the hands of Southern California.

The 18th-ranked Sun Devils host the Trojans on Sunday.

Derek Glasser made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:16 to play as Arizona State (19-5, 8-4 Pac-10) pulled out a 74-67 victory over UCLA on Thursday. The basket gave the Sun Devils a 69-67 lead for the ninth and final lead change in the last 8:05 of the contest.

James Harden had 15 points and a career-high 11 assists in the win. The Pac-10 Conference's leading scorer, at 21.6 per game, had the worst game of his career in Arizona State's first meeting with USC this season.

Harden missed all eight of his shots and had four points in 34 minutes as the Sun Devils lost at USC, 61-49, on January 15.

USC (15-8, 6-5) is trying to salvage its three-game road trip after losing at UCLA and Arizona in the past week.

Dwight Lewis scored 21 points and freshman DeMar DeRozan had 20 in Thursday's 83-76 setback at Arizona.

Daniel Hackett also scored 20 in the loss and the junior guard should be the primary defender on Harden once again.
