Kansas aims to extend home winning streak vs. Iowa State

Feb 18, 2009 - 12:36 PM Iowa State (13-12) at No. 18 Kansas (20-5), 8:00 p.m. EST

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Looking to protect the nation's longest home winning streak, 18th-ranked Kansas hosts road-weary Iowa State on Wednesday.

With their 85-74 triumph at Kansas State on Saturday, the Jayhawks (20-5, 9-1 Big 12) have now won 20 or more games in each of the last 20 seasons.

Their 37-game winning run at Allen Fieldhouse has a good chance of remaining in tact since the Cyclones (13-12, 2-8) have lost seven of their last eight games overall while dropping 13 in a row on the road in conference play.

Kansas has outshot 20 of 25 opponents this season and has shot 50 percent or better in 12 games, including six of 10 conference contests. This season, the team is 18-2 when outshooting its opponent and 2-3 when outplayed in that category.

Iowa State, which is coming off an 86-67 loss at Oklahoma State Saturday, continues to be paced by Craig Brackins.

The sophomore forward leads the team in scoring at 19.7 points per game - second in the Big 12 - and nearly claimed his 11th double-double of the season Saturday by recording 27 points and nine rebounds during a 86-67 loss to Oklahoma State.
