CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (Ticker) -- No. 9 Michigan State will be looking to clinch the Big Ten regular season title with a win over 20th-ranked Illinois on Sunday.

The Spartans (22-5, 12-3 Big Ten) own a two-game lead over the Fighting Illini (23-6, 11-5) with three games left on the regular-season slate.

Michigan State has won two in a row and five of six, including a 62-54 win over Iowa on Wednesday. Delvon Roe led the way with 16 points while leading scorer Kalin Lucus, who is averaging 14.2 points, managed only four in 32 minutes.

Illinois needs to beat the Spartans and to still have a chance at the Big Ten crown.

The Illini picked up their fifth win in the last six games with a 52-41 decision over Minnesota on Thursday, holding the Gophers scoreless over the final 6:21 of the contest.

Michigan State took the first matchup, 63-57, on January 17, closing the game on a 12-3 run. Lucas scored all 10 of his points in the second half, when the Spartans outscored Illinois, 36-23.
