LSU looks to avoid season-ending loss at Auburn
Mar 7, 2009 - 11:14 AM No. 11 Louisiana State (25-5) at Auburn (20-10) 4:00 p.m. ESTAUBURN, Alabama (Ticker) -- Eleventh-ranked Louisiana State tries to avoid ending the regular season on a losing streak when it visits Auburn for both teams' regular-season finale on Saturday.
With the Southeastern Conference title already wrapped up, the Tigers (25-5, 13-2 SEC West) failed to show up for their meeting with Vanderbilt on Wednesday, dropping a 75-67 decision at home.
The loss was Louisiana State's first in the conference since dropping its opener against Alabama on January 11 and it snapped a 10-game win streak overall.
The Tigers may have trouble getting back on track against Auburn (20-10, 9-6), which has won three straight and seven of eight, including a 77-73 victory over Alabama on Tuesday.
Korvotney Barber had 13 points and 16 rebounds, leading Auburn to the win over its arch-rival.
