Memphis goes for 22 in a row vs. Tulane

Mar 7, 2009 - 11:15 AM Tulane (13-15) at No. 3 Memphis (27-3) 1:00 p.m. EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- With its sights set on a top seed in the NCAA Tournament, No. 3 Memphis can not afford to slip up Saturday when they host Tulane.

The Tigers (27-3, 15-0 C-USA) will look to record their nation's-best 22nd win in a row against the Green Wave, who have won three straight for the first time this season.

Memphis has ascended to its highest ranking of the season while extending its winning streak in the conference to 57 games.

Freshman Tyreke Evans scored 23 points and Robert Dozier added 15 as the Tigers withstood a rare test in Conference USA play, earning a 69-60 victory over Houston on Wednesday.

Tulane (13-15, 7-8) is looking to end the conference schedule with a .500 record, but will be hard-pressed to do so against the ultra-talented Tigers.

Kevin Sims led the way with 22 points in a 86-77 victory Texas-El Paso over last Saturday.
