Duke, UNC battle for ACC title
Mar 8, 2009 - 2:06 PM No. 7 Duke (25-5) at No. 2 North Carolina (26-3), 4:00 p.m. EDTCHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Second-ranked North Carolina hopes to secure the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season title when it hosts No. 7 Duke on Sunday.
UNC has won consecutive games, including Wednesday's 86-78 triumph at Virginia Tech.
Tyler Hansbrough had his 75th career 20-point game in the win, recording 22 points and 15 rebounds. The senior is averaging a team-best 21.3 points per contest.
The Tar Heels (26-3, 12-3 ACC) have a one-game lead over the Blue Devils (25-5, 11-4), who can claim a share of the crown with a win.
Duke comes in on a five-game winning streak after Tuesday's 84-81 triumph over No. 24 Florida State.
Gerald Henderson continued his excellent season with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils, who lost the first meeting with the Tar Heels, 101-87, on February 11.
