Wichita State looks to continue road success vs. Wyoming

Dec 9, 2006 - 3:58 PM No. 16 Wichita St (6-0) at Wyoming (7-1) 5:30 pm EST

LARAMIE, Wyoming (Ticker) -- Wichita State has become one of the most accomplished road teams in the nation.

Holding their highest ranking in 25 years, the 16th-ranked Shockers look to remain unbeaten when they hit the road against Wyoming.

Kyle Wilson scored 17 points and Sean Ogirri added 16 as Wichita State managed to hold off a frenzied rally by Syracuse and claim a 64-61 victory last Saturday. It was just another win in a string of impressive road victories by the Shockers, who improved to 3-0 away from home.

Wichita State also has notched wins on the road against two of last season's Final Four squads. They defeated George Mason on November 18 and then-No. 6 Louisiana State on November 25.

The Cowboys have won four in a row and seven of their first eight contests. On Wednesday, Brad Jones had 24 points and six rebounds as Wyoming defeated Denver, 91-59.

The Shockers lead the all-time series, 8-3, including a 72-65 win on December 30, 2000 - the last meeting between the teams.
