Fazekas leads Nevada against struggling Pacific

Dec 16, 2006 - 6:15 PM Pacific (3-7) at No. 21 Nevada (8-1) 10:05 pm EST

RENO, Nevada (Ticker) -- Nick Fazekas, who just passed a milestone, leads the 21st-ranked Wolf Pack against a struggling Pacific club on Saturday.

Fazekas topped the 2,000 point-plateau in Tuesday's 76-58 victory over St. Mary's, becoming the first player in school history to do so.

The 6-11 senior forward, who scored 19 points in the win, also grabbed his 1,018th rebound to move into second-place on on the all-time Nevada rebound list. Fazekas is averaging 21.4 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game.

Pacific, which so far has not resembled the 24-8 club that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season, has dropped four straight contests.

The Tigers' last loss was 67-60 defeat at the hands of Saint Louis on Tuesday. Pacific only shot 20 percent (5-of-25) from the field in the second half.

Steffan Johnson led the Tigers with 18 points.
