Olajuwon leads Oklahoma over Cal State Fullerton

Dec 31, 2009 - 3:15 AM NORMAN, Okla.(AP) -- Abi Olajuwon scored a career-high 25 points, Nyeshia Stevenson added 18 points and No. 14 Oklahoma beat Cal State Fullerton 95-76 Wednesday night for its sixth straight win.

Oklahoma (10-2) overcame 18 turnovers to beat overmatched Cal St Fullerton (4-8). The Sooners outscored Cal State 26-4 in the paint to go ahead 42-31 at halftime, but Fullerton pulled within six with 9:22 to play before Oklahoma pulled away.

Lyndsey Grove scored 19 points for Fullerton and Megan Richardson had 18 points.

Oklahoma shot 61 percent for the game and held the Titans to 42 percent shooting. Oklahoma forced 18 turnovers, which resulted in 32 points.

Olajuwon came in averaging 11.7 points per game, but made 11 of 16 shots.

Oklahoma will play No. 4 Tennessee Sunday in Knoxville, Tenn.
