No. 11 LSU beats No. 15 Xavier 56-47
Dec 31, 2009 - 2:49 AM CINCINNATI(AP) -- Allison Hightower scored 18 points and had a career-high six steals Wednesday night, leading No. 11 Louisiana State to a 56-47 victory over 15th-ranked Xavier for coach Van Chancellor's 500th victory.LSU (11-1) forced Xavier to turn it over 11 times while building a 35-25 halftime lead. It was the lowest-scoring half of the season for Xavier (9-3) to that point. The Musketeers could only manage 22 points in the second half.
Katherine Graham scored a career-high 14 points for LSU. A 3-pointer by Xavier's Katie Rutan cut the lead to 42-40 with 8:03 left, but the Musketeers couldn't get any closer.
