Courtney Williams led USF (8-8, 3-2) with 19 points.
The Bulls trimmed a 17-point second-half deficit with a 17-2 run to claw within 49-47 with 7:08 left, but Louisville responded with an 11-1 surge, which was capped on Schimmel's three-point play for a 60-48 advantage with 3:35 to play.
Louisville led 33-27 at the break.
