No. 5 Duke bounces back with rout of Clemson

Feb 7, 2014 - 3:05 AM Clemson, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Haley Peters scored a game-high 17 points and three other Duke players finished in double figures as the fifth-ranked Blue Devils cruised to a 78-51 win over Clemson Thursday at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Tricia Liston compiled 15 points and 10 rebounds to help Duke (22-2, 9-1 ACC) put behind Sunday's 21-point home loss to No. 2 Notre Dame. Richa Jackson netted 13 points and Ka'lia Johnson contributed 10 to the rout.

Nikki Dixon and Quinyotta Pettaway paced Clemson (11-13, 3-7), which shot just 3-of-16 from 3-point range and 32.7 percent overall, with 10 points apiece. Dixon added seven assists.

Duke led for most of the contest, though its lead was a slim 28-23 at halftime before the Blue Devils dominated play following the break.

Jackson tallied five points during a 9-0 run that stretched the margin to 42-27 with 14 minutes to play. Clemson's Nyilah Jamison-Myers briefly stopped the surge with a layup, but Liston and Alexis Johnson buried back-to-back 3- pointers that ignited an 8-0 sequence that put Duke up 50-29 with 11:30 remaining.

Duke maintained a lead of at least 16 points over the duration of the game.
