No. 15 Stanford women beat 22nd-ranked George Washington

(AP) Lili Thompson scored 21 points, Erica McCall had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 15 Stanford beat 22nd-ranked George Washington 84-63 on Saturday.Thompson made three of the Cardinal's nine 3-pointers and scored 20-plus for a second consecutive game. McCall recorded her third straight double-double.
Karlie Samuelson hit four 3-pointers and finished with 17 points for Stanford (3-0). Alanna Smith added 10 points.
The Cardinal outscored George Washington 31-11 in the decisive second quarter as Thompson, Samuelson, McCall and Smith combined to score 29 points.
George Washington went scoreless for the first three minutes of the third quarter, but got within 51-41 on Lauren Chase's 3-pointer with 4:20 left in the third. Thompson answered with a 3-pointer and Stanford led by at least 11 the rest of the way.
Jonquel Jones led George Washington (2-1) with 27 points and 17 rebounds. She made five 3-pointers and Caira Washington added 10 points and nine boards.
