LSU overcomes halftime deficit to top South Florida
Jan 4, 2007 - 9:58 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Erica White scored a career-high 22 points and Sylvia Fowles added 15 and 16 rebounds as No. 6 Louisiana State rallied in the second half to post a 60-48 triumph over South Florida.LSU (14-1) trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half and entered the break facing a 28-23 deficit. But White made the first of her two 3-pointers with 7:54 to go in the second half to put the Lady Tigers ahead for good, 42-41.
With her eighth double-double of the season and 43rd career, Fowles passed Scholanda Hoston for 15th place on LSU's all-time scoring list.
Quianna Chaney scored 10 points and White dished out six assists for the Lady Tigers, who held the Bulls to 25.4 percent (17-of-67) shooting.
Jessica Dickson had 22 points and nine boards and ChiChi Okpaleke grabbed 12 rebounds for South Florida (11-3), which was outscored, 38-16, on points in the paint.
