Gant lifts Texas A&M over Oklahoma State

Jan 31, 2007 - 6:48 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Danielle Gant helped Texas A&M overcome a horrendous shooting performance.

Gant hit the winning free throw with three-tenths of a second remaining to lift the 20th-ranked Aggies to a 64-63 Big 12 Conference victory over Oklahoma State.

It was fitting that the decisive shot came from Gant, as she led Texas A&M (16-4, 6-2 Big 12) with 16 points and a season-high 15 rebounds.

The Aggies shot a miserable 26 percent (8-of-31) in the opening 20 minutes and trailed the Cowgirls, 27-25 at halftime.

Rashidat Sadiq kept Oklahoma State (15-6, 3-5) in the game with 23 points, including five 3-pointers. Danielle Green added 12 points and tied the game at 63-63 on a layup with four seconds to play.

La Toya Micheaux scored 15 points for A&M, including 9-of-12 at the free-throw line.
