White, Vanderbilt topple Louisiana State
Feb 23, 2007 - 5:46 AM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Carla Thomas scored 23 points to help No. 12 Vanderbilt walk away with a 68-58 Southeastern Conference win over Louisiana State.Dee Davis had 17 points, eight assists and four steals as Vanderbilt (24-4, 10-3 SEC) claimed sole possession of third place in the conference and pushes LSU down to fourth.
Thomas made 11-of-16 shots as the Commodores had four players score in double figures and shot 54 percent (26-of-48) and 64 percent (7-of-11) in 3-pointers.
Erica White scored 22 points and Sylvia Fowles added 17 and pulled in 10 rebounds as LSU (23-6, 9-4) shot merely 39 percent (10-of-26) in the second half and faced a 35-25 disadvantage after going into the break tied, 33-33.
