Larkins guides North Carolina to easy win

Nov 12, 2007 - 1:41 AM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Erlana Larkins scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help No. 7 North Carolina defeat No. 12 Arizona State, 75-60, in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic on Sunday.

Rashanda McCants chipped in with 18 points and Jessica Breland added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Tar Heels (2-0), who outrebounded the Sun Devils 50-39 and forced 29 turnovers.

North Carolina held Arizona State to 18 second-half points on 22 percent (7-of-32) shooting, after allowing the Sun Devils to shoot 52 percent (16-of-31) in the opening half.

Danielle Orsillo scored 21 points and Jill Noe added 13 for Arizona State (0-1).
